Charging reliability should not be a guessing game

FrostRoute was built because “listed as available” is not the same as “likely to work.” We are closing that gap with stall-level health data, winter-aware energy modeling, and fallback plans that update in real time.

Our story

From a frustrating winter road trip to a reliability-first platform.

The problem we saw

EV charger listings say 'available' when stalls are broken, throttled, or incompatible. Drivers waste hours. Fleets miss schedules. Roadside teams scramble without data. In winter, these failures compound — range drops, chargers underperform, and there is no Plan B.

Why winter matters

Cold weather cuts EV range by 20-40%. Cabin heating draws more power. Chargers may throttle in extreme cold. A stop that works in September can fail in January. Generic routing tools ignore these conditions. We built FrostRoute because winter drivers deserve better.

What we are building

A reliability-first routing and station observability service. We score charger health at the stall level, model winter energy with honest confidence intervals, and pre-build fallback plans for every stop. When something changes, we alert you before you arrive.

Who we serve

EV road-trippers who need their winter plans to hold up. Fleet managers and dispatchers who cannot afford unplanned delays. Roadside assistance and insurance teams who need to see where infrastructure is failing — and respond with data, not guesswork.

Mission and values

Our mission is to make every EV charging stop predictable — especially in conditions where reliability matters most.

Dependable

We behave like a steady co-pilot — consistent, predictable, and designed for stressful conditions. Fewer surprises, conservative defaults, and stable layouts that you can count on when conditions are harsh.

Clear

We make complex reliability signals understandable at a glance without hiding nuance. Plain-language labels paired with explain-why details, designed for comprehension in motion.

Vigilant

We actively monitor changing conditions and surface what needs attention before it becomes a problem. Early warnings, not post-mortems. Fast recovery paths when reality diverges from plan.

Pragmatic

We focus on what works in the real world — constraints, tradeoffs, and quick next steps. Action-forward choices over abstract charts. Options with consequences, not recommendations without context.

How we build

Five principles that guide every product decision at FrostRoute.

01

Default to Plan B

Every route includes vetted fallbacks. Users opt out only intentionally.

02

Explain the 'why' on demand

Show a simple verdict first, then evidence, inputs, and assumptions one layer deeper.

03

Design for glove-and-glance

Big tap targets, short labels, and layouts that work in cold, bright, and bumpy conditions.

04

Treat uncertainty as first-class

Use ranges, confidence, and 'unknown' states instead of false precision.

05

Make incident reporting frictionless

Reporting must be faster than searching — one tap, optional proof, immediate next-best action.
